A falling-block puzzle game in which players arrange Tetriminos into lines to clear the board. Tetris DS offers six modes themed around classic Nintendo games, including Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid. Some modes use the touch screen for additional interaction and introduce special puzzles to solve.
Other modes feature head-to-head matches and wireless battles for up to ten players. A single game card is enough for a multiplayer session, while online battles support two or four participants. Battle results contribute to a points-based rating that indicates each player's skill level.
