In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players will immerse themselves in the city life of medieval Bohemia. This quest takes you into the lives of miners, their traditions, and their complex relationships with competitors. We describe a detailed walkthrough of the Striped Tonies side quest.
How to Start the Striped Tonies Quest
This quest will only become available after completing the "Miner's Sorrow" quest. Head to the "Black Stallion" tavern in the city of Kunta-Gora, Kuttenberg region, in the evening. Find the miners and talk to them.
During the conversation, you will learn about an ancient miner tradition — the archery tournament. Foreman Vlah will ask you to help consecrate the banner of Saint Anthony, which you previously retrieved from bandits. By agreeing to help, you will start the quest. Note that the quest has time constraints, so try not to get distracted at all stages.
Set Out for the Church at Hmelnik Tomorrow Morning
Head to the Church of John the Baptist, which is located east of the inner city, to the right of the main entrance. Starting at six in the morning, you can meet a miner named Frantsek at the church.
Talk to the Miner at the Church
Talk to Frantsek, after which miner Anton Kaspar will join your company. They will explain that the ancient tradition of consecrating the banner involves a special ritual: it must be carried through the city and consecrated in several churches. You will accompany them in this ritual.
Escort and Protect Anton
On the way, they will gladly tell you about the upcoming archery tournament, its history, and its significance for the locals. You will learn about the old traditions that the miners hold dear, as well as their main competitors, with whom they will compete.
Talk to Anton
Start a conversation with Anton. He will inform you that everything is going smoothly, but the priest who is supposed to consecrate the banner is still not visible. At this point, Frantsek will suggest not wasting time and taking revenge on the Pious Ones for the stolen banner. Support his idea by stating that you want to settle the score with Pranek. As a result, you will develop a plan together: Anton will stay at the church waiting for the priest, Frantsek will take a waiting position, and in the meantime, you will hang the Pious Ones' pants instead of their banner. If you refuse, the quest will fail.
Hang the Underpants
Follow Frantsek to the "All Saints" tavern. On the way, he will explain that for successful revenge, you need to climb to the top of the building and hang the pants through the attic window.
Go through the tavern to the backyard, where scaffolding awaits you. Carefully climb them, trying not to attract attention.
Through the window, you will enter the storage room. In the corner, find a ladder and climb it to the attic. There, find a window from which you can see the Pious Ones' banner and replace it with the pants.
Return to the miners who will be waiting for you opposite the tavern exit. Discuss how cleverly you played a prank on the competitors, and then go with your friends to celebrate your success with a mug of beer.
Escort and Protect Anton
On the way, you will encounter a group of four competitor miners led by Foreman Jorg Pranek. After a brief exchange of taunts and jibes, the verbal skirmish will escalate into a fight. You will need to defeat the opponents using your combat skills. Do not let your allies be defeated.
Talk to Anton in the Tavern
Follow Anton into the tavern, where you will continue discussing the recent fight. However, the conversation will gradually shift to a more personal topic: Anton will remember that today is the name day of Rozka, the girl he is courting. To his horror, he realizes that he forgot to prepare a gift for her.
During the discussion, it will become clear that the perfect gift would be roses and perfume. Anton will ask you to help him acquire these items. If you refuse to help, the quest will be failed, so agree to continue the adventure.
Obtain the Perfume
The perfume for Rozka can be obtained from her friend, Elsa Jolin, the daughter of the local shoemaker. Find her at the shoemaker's shop located in the center of the trading street. To get the perfume, you will need to persuade Elsa to give it to you by successfully passing a persuasion check.
If you fail to persuade her, there is always the option to simply steal the item. Regardless of the chosen method, you will obtain Elsa's perfume, which will be part of the gift for Rozka.
Pick Flowers for Rozka
Find the "Paradise Garden" located in the eastern part of the city, to the left of the exit from the inner city.
Go around the garden on the left side and use the barrels to climb over the first fence. Overcome the next obstacle in the same manner.
Once in the garden, remember that you are on private property, so act quickly and stealthily. The gardener is on duty in the garden, as well as his dog, so be careful and avoid being seen by them.
Find a flowerbed with large red flowers and pick a "Freshly Picked Bouquet" from it.
After that, leave the garden by climbing over the fence at the other end of the garden (on the same side you came from, or through the fence section on the left).
There is an alternative way to enter the garden: go around it on the right side and pick the lock on the door.
Return to Frantsek with the Gift
Upon returning to the tavern, you will find Anton in a drunken state, lying on the ground. Frantsek will explain that Anton drank so much due to his worries about forgetting his beloved's name day. The miner will tell you that to participate in the tournament, an oath must be taken at St. George's Church with Father Tobias.
Since the oath must be given by the participant, and in this case, it's Anton, you will have to take him to the church. If you only bring one gift, you will not receive the reward in the form of groschen. If you refuse to help, the quest will be failed.
Carry Anton
Pick Anton up from the ground and follow Frantsek. On the way, you will discuss the overall situation of the miners in the city. Frantsek will also share his thoughts on the life of craftsmen and their place in society.
When you reach the church, Father Tobias will clearly not be pleased with Anton's condition. Frantsek, flustered, will not be able to find the right words. At this moment, you will take responsibility and decide to take the oath in place of Anton. The priest will appreciate your nobility and allow you to continue.
Listen carefully to Anton, and then choose the options in the dialogue that he mentioned: twice the second option and the third time — the third option. Don't worry if you make a mistake — it will not affect the outcome of the quest, except for a slight loss of reputation.
After successfully taking the oath, Father Tobias will bless you. As a token of gratitude, the miners will give you a map of the Kutna Hora dungeons and some groschen. This will conclude the quest. However, remember: if you refuse to fulfill the miners' last request, the quest will be failed.
